North American summer dates have been announced by Rihanna as part of her world “Last Girl on Earth Tour” in support of “Rated R,” her platinum selling album.
The outing will feature Nicki Minaj, rapper, and Ke$ha, pop singer, as openers. The trek will kick off in Auburn, WA on July 25 and will include both US and Canadian dates on the 25 city outing before wrapping up in Chicago on August 25.
Starting on April 7 members of Rihanna’s fan club will have the opportunity to buy pre-sale tickets. Also eligible for pre-sale tickets will be Citi card members. The general public will be able to buy tickets starting on April 9.
Recently Rihanna told AOL, we haven’t ever done a tour with this capacity. It’s an unbelievable production and costumes have been taken to a entirely new level. Sonically and visually it will be a big step forward from our last one. We keep growing. It will be a massive production this time. I can’t wait.
The singer from Barbados continues supporting “Rated R,” her worldwide smash album and fourth studio set, out on the road. Earlier this year, it became the third platinum album in a row for her.
Three singles have been spawned from the set, all scoring high on the charts. “Rude Boy,” the latest, is currently in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 100 chart for the third consecutive week, helping Rihanna to be the only woman artist this decade to garner six US No. 1 singles.
“Good Girl Gone Bad,” the previous studio set from Rihanna released in 2007, earned her and Jay-Z a Grammy for their collaboration on “Umbrella.” The song was on top of the charts in over twelve countries all over the world.
