Wednesday night may have been the “American Idol” debut for Rihanna. However, a fearless performance was delivered by the superstar of “Rockstar 101,” her new single.

In an “Entertainment Tonight” interview, Rihanna said, it’s the first time I have performed on “Idol.” It was kind of nerve racking. We are busy with tour rehearsals which has taken up a lot of time. We had to fit it in.

This week the singer announced the “Last Girl on Earth Tour” she will be undertaking with Ke$ha. She confessed the performance was completely spontaneous and revealed that she and the band made up what they were gong to do at the spur of the moment.

In addition, Rihanna explained what the meaning was behind the “Last Girl on Earth Tour” title. She said I think I am the Earth’s last girl because people sometimes make decisions based on other people’s outlooks. For me it’s my life. It’s my world. I will live it how I please. That’s the way I think about things. I am focused on myself and my work. The space is really narrow. I am focused.

“Rude Boy,” the third single from Rihanna’s album “Rated R,” is holding Billboard’s Hot 100 top position for the fourth week in a row. Rihanna said this is very exciting. I can’t believe of all the songs that “Rude Boy” is the album’s biggest song. That’s the one I wrote most on.

Nicki Minaj, the singer, has made the decision not to be part of Rihanna’s tour.

Minaj sent a tweet saying she was sorry she wouldn’t be part of the tour with Rihanna, and that she had decided to use the time to complete her new album and hoped that Rihanna would understand.

Minaj followed the tweet up with thanking Rihanna for extending her the great opportunity and for being such a sweetheart. She said she supported the show and sent her love.

Nicki Minaj, a Jamaica, Queens native, was born December 8, 1984 as Onika Maraj.

Minaj’s career started in 2004 with singing hooks and background vocals for local rappers. Fendi, Dirty Money’s CEO, discovered Minaj on MySpace and signer her to his label.

“Massive Attack,” Minaj’s first single was released March 30, 2010.

North American summer dates have been announced by Rihanna as part of her world “Last Girl on Earth Tour” in support of “Rated R,” her platinum selling album.

The outing will feature Nicki Minaj, rapper, and Ke$ha, pop singer, as openers. The trek will kick off in Auburn, WA on July 25 and will include both US and Canadian dates on the 25 city outing before wrapping up in Chicago on August 25.

Starting on April 7 members of Rihanna’s fan club will have the opportunity to buy pre-sale tickets. Also eligible for pre-sale tickets will be Citi card members. The general public will be able to buy tickets starting on April 9.

Recently Rihanna told AOL, we haven’t ever done a tour with this capacity. It’s an unbelievable production and costumes have been taken to a entirely new level. Sonically and visually it will be a big step forward from our last one. We keep growing. It will be a massive production this time. I can’t wait.

The singer from Barbados continues supporting “Rated R,” her worldwide smash album and fourth studio set, out on the road. Earlier this year, it became the third platinum album in a row for her.
